Cauchy stress tensor – Kinematics - Velocity and acceleration, pathlines and streamlines, discharge - The conservation laws: differential and integral form – Hydrostatic - Ideal fluids. Bernoulli’s theorem - Steady and uniform flows: one dimensional dissipative model. Pipe flows. Free surface flows in channels – Introduction to hydraulics groundwater. Darcy’s law. Artesian and phreatic aquifers.
