(objectives)
Provide students with the knowledge base and expertise needed to tackle the study of the physics of cosmic rays. In particular, highlight the physical processes involved in the propagation of galactic and solar cosmic rays into heliosphere, their modulation during different phases of solar activity, the processes of particle acceleration and the variability of the physical environment in the interplanetary relation to different types of solar activity. Emphasize that many of these physical phenomena can be extrapolated to an astrophysics scale larger than the heliosphere.
