(syllabus)
The course aims to provide students with competences and a theoretical-methodological knowledge in the field of didactics of languages, in order to develop a critical approach to teaching foreign or second languages. It deals with the most important theoretical hypotheses, approaches and methods on language learning, over the years. Recent trends in linguistic education with particular reference to linguistic education in a pluringual perspective and to intecomprehension will be discussed.
The course offers an in-depth analysis of the key themes in the second language teaching and an overview on the teaching methods over the years. Part of the course will focus on the research in the field of the development of language competences.
