POLITICAL SCIENCE

The term politics includes all activities that refer to the acquiring, the organization, the carrying out and conservation of the power of a state, or between states. Power is politics when its decisions can become power in regards to some components of a group, even when reverting to its strength. Political Science is affirmed as the discipline of study and research of several aspects of the reality of politics using the method of empirical science. Over and above the various methodologies used (study of comparison, study of single cases) and by various approaches, where the center of the interest of political science lies in the approach to explain the phenomenon and the processes of the politics, through the internal or international dimension. Beginning from these premises, the course uses an illustration scope and the analysis of the principle concepts, problems and theories challenged by contemporary political science. The scope is to furnish the students with the relative essential understandings of the characteristics and the function of the contemporary political systems, with particular reference to the democratic system, even though the instrument for analysis is the understanding of the politics.
