URBAN RESTORATION STUDIO
(objectives)
AIMS THE ULTIMATE AIM OF THE LABORATORY IS TO PRODUCE AN URBAN RESTORATION PROJECT FOR A SMALL HISTORIC CENTRE. THE DETAILED OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT ARE: A) TO CONSERVE THE URBAN AND ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLACE AND TO RECOVER BEAUTY THROUGH RESTORATION OF ELEMENTS THAT HAVE COLLAPSED OR BEEN AFFECTED BY INAPPROPRIATE RECENT ALTERATIONS; B) TO FAVOUR APPROPRIATE USE OF THE HISTORIC CENTRE BY PROPOSING INTERVENTIONS CONCERNING RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS, STREET-PLANS, PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND SPACES; C) TO CONSERVE AND RESTORE, WHERE POSSIBLE, THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE SURROUNDING THE HISTORIC CENTRE.
THE LABORATORY IS SCHEDULED IN TWO PARTS:
1. A DIDACTIC SEMINAR HELD IN A SELECTED HISTORIC CENTRE DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SECOND SEMESTER; 2. A CALENDAR OF REGULAR LABORATORY SESSIONS THROUGHOUT THE SECOND SEMESTER, HELD IN THE FACULTRY OF ARCHITECTURE “TESTACCIO”;
