THE COURSE FOCUSES ON THE SHAPING OF GENDER IDENTITY AS A SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONSTRUCT IN THE CONTEMPORARY AGE. IT WILL ANALYZE SOME MAJOR THEMES AND EVENTS OF WOMEN’S HISTORY DURING THE NINETEENTH AND TWENTIETH CENTURIES AND SHOULD ENABLE STUDENTS TO UTILIZE THE GENDER CONCEPT AS A CATEGORY OF INTERPRETATION IN DIFFERENT HISTORIOGRAPHICAL FIELDS.
