THIS COURSE AIMS TO MAKE STUDENTS AWARE OF THE COMPLEX AND AMBIVALENTE CULTURAL (SOCIAL, POLITICAL, ETHICAL, ECONOMIC) IMPLICATIONS REGARDING LA PRESENCE OF ENGLISH AS A FIRST, SECOND AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND AS A LINGUA FRANCA ACROSS THE GLOBE TODAY, AND TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND HOW THE CURRENT SITUATION CAME TO BE. LANGUAGE SKILLS: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE MATERIALS IN THE PROGRAM – PRINT AND VIDEO – STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE A B2 LEVEL ON READING AND LISTENING COMPREHENSION. STUDENTS ATTENDING THE LESSONS WILL HAVE FURTHER LANGUAGE PRACTICE.
