ADVANCED TECHNIQUES FOR BIOMATERIALS CHARACTERISATION
(objectives)
The course provides the student with the knowledge needed to characterize those materials that associate their ordinary function with biomedical-oriented functions. In the course, the techniques for microscopic characterization of materials will be presented: Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Focussed Ion Beam (FIB), microscopy and micro manufacturing with FIB/SEM; Energy Dispersive Microscopy; Diffractometry; Residual Stress analysis; Atoic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy (STM), Scanning Capacitance Microscopy (SCM), micro cantilever for the study and analysis of biomolecules.
