“Language structures”
Knowledge of the basic concepts of Linguistics (phonemes, morphemes, phrases, lexemes). Understanding of the distinctions among the various levels of analysis. Development of skills in the use of linguistic methods (commutation tests, syntactic representations, etc).
“Languages of the world”
Acquisition of skills in the syntactic analysis and comparison of different languages. Language classifications (genetic comparison, typology and language contact), interfaces between formal, semantic and pragmatic aspects of languages.
