The politics of the great European and non-European states from the mid-19th century to the First World War; the great transformations in the economy and society; the second industrial revolution and the birth of mass society. The politics of the great European and non-European states from the First World War to the end of the Cold War; totalitarianism, the Second World War, the bipolar world, the collapse of the Soviet bloc. Part of the course will be dedicated to the birth and development of the Kingdom of Italy up to the intervention in the First World War; Italy from the advent of Fascism up to the drama of the Second World War; the birth, development and crisis of the republic.
