MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF DEVELOPMENT
(objectives)
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY AND THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL COMPETENCE ON THE CELLULAR MECHANISMS THAT UNDERLIE EMBRYOGENESIS, POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT, AGING, AND REGENERATION. PRINCIPAL AIMS OF THE COURSE ARE THE FOLLOWING: (1) APPLICATION OF DIFFERENT APPROACHES (ANATOMICAL, MORPHOLOGICAL, GENETIC, MOLECULAR, AND ULTRASTRUCTURAL) TO THE STUDY OF VERTEBRATE AND INVERTEBRATE DEVELOPMENT; (2) KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF DIFFERENTIATION AND MORPHOGENESIS.
