This course will outline the characteristics of literary translation processes from French to Italian. The history of translation, from the target oriented translations of the Grand Siècle to the romantic source oriented translations will be followed by a survey of the history of French, aimed at developing a critical awareness of the problems of register that affect every literary translation from French into Italian.
