To provide students with basic knowledge of Coastal and Maritime Engineering. Understanding of the basic meteoceanographic and hydraulic coastal processes: wind, currents, tides, waves. To provide with the fundamental design tools/methods for the design of coastal structures, with specific reference to rubble mound and caisson breakwaters. Basic rules for planning and designing harbours, with specific reference to marinas.
