The main aim of this course is to provide to the students an overview of the subjects that deal with digital arts (the so called Videoart in particular, but also sound/music and photographic production, and others): historical basis (from electronic arts to the current digital ones), the aesthetics basics, technical processes of videomaking. The course will be divided into two parts as follow: the first one will give a description of the Videoart phenomenon from a notional/critic point of view, and the second one will be committed to the technical instruments knowledge (video editing and post-production software, hardware like video and sound recording devices etc...) used to produce creative and artistic audiovisual works. A prominent part of the course will be committed to watch historic and contemporary works. Besides there will be meetings and debates with authors. The most concerned students will have the possibility to make their own work (individually or in group) with a constant technical and theoretical guide, or to collaborate (as camera operator, video editor, performer, musician, sound and graphic designer) to the work of the teacher artist.
