LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND INSTITUTIONS IN SPANISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES
(objectives)
The aim of the course is to deepen the study of the Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture. In the matter of the linguistic aspects, the communicative and social-cultural skills will be developed through the study of Phraseology and Paremiology, in general use amongst the wider Hispanic speakers. Instead, with regards to the cultural aspects, the course will concern the study of Francisco de Miranda, a key figure in the Venezuelan history also abroad, of the XVIII century. To sum up, the objective is to gain a general knowledge of the Spanish language(phonetics, morphology, syntax, lexis, phraseology and pragmatics), the development of the four basic abilities (oral and written comprehension and production) interaction, and the acquisition of the knowledge of the cultural elements of Spain and Latin America.
