ANGLO-AMERICAN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE II LTI
(objectives)
The aim of the course is to provide the students with a general overview of the literary and cultural history of the Anglophone countries of America in the nineteenth century. The literature of the period will be analyzed with special reference to the intertextual relationships, transcultural dynamics (in particular with regard to Europe), intersemiotic translations (in the relationship between the different forms of art), and performativity. In the framework of literary analysis some samples of literary texts will also be translated. Problems of translation into Italian of selected texts will be carried out and evaluated.
