ANGLO-AMERICAN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE II LCMC
(objectives)
The aim of the course is to provide the students with a general overview of the literary and cultural history of the Anglophone countries of America in the nineteenth century. The literature of the period will be analyzed with special reference to the intertextual relationships, transcultural dynamics (in particular with regard to Europe), intersemiotic translations (in the relationship between the different forms of art), and performativity. The different methods of critical analysis, with special reference to the linguistic, visual, and intermedial dimensions will be presented and applied to selected texts.
