HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE I
(objectives)
The course proposes to “understand” historical buildings analytically examining architectural features, interpreting historical causes, and evaluating their quality. Students will have to question why buildings have been commissioned and built; what were the aims of architects and builders; which materials and techniques were adopted; which relationship was set with previous or contemporary buildings. Students reconstruct the design process, when documentation is available, investigating links among all these aspects– first part
