The module is structured in two complementary yet closely linked parts. In the first one, of theoretical nature, the main theoretical aspects of translation are closely analyzed and a guided reflection on the translation activityis carried out through a comparison between the source texts and the target texts. In the second part, more practical, main translation strategies – general and specific -are illustrated , as well as the paper and electronic resources for translation.
Texts to be translated at home from and into English are assigned, followed in class by plenary correction and discussion of the translation choices.
