- QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS AS SOCIOLOGICAL METHODOLOGY - MIXED APPROACH, BETWEEN QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE METHODOLOGY - DATA COMPUTER-ASSISTED ANALYSIS
The lectures will begin on March 1st, 2016, at 3 p.m., in the classroom 3, piazza della Repubblica 10, and continue with the following schedule: Monday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m., in the classroom 1; Tuesday, 3 p.m.-5 p.m., in the classroom 3; Thursday, 9 a.m.-11 a.m., in the classroom 1. Tuesday at 3 p.m.-5 p.m., in the classroom 3 - Cipriani (1st part): New Handbook of Sociology; Delli Poggi (2nd part): Basics of science and sociology Thursday at 9 a.m.-11 a.m., in the classroom 1 - Cipriani: dialogue activities and/or discussion on issues of the previous lessons; Delli Poggi (assistance and organization) Monday at 2 p.m.-4 p.m., in the classroom 1 - Cipriani (1st part): New Handbook of Sociology of Religion; Delli Poggi (2nd part): Basics of science and sociology
First lesson: 01.03.2016 - Cipriani: opening and presentation of program, timing, objectives, exemption
Themes: Cipriani: New Handbook of Sociology and New Handbook of Sociology of Religion Delli Poggi: Basics of Sociology (terms, concepts and objectives of sociology, why - what - how)
Presentations of authors and texts: - Dani (theme: Church internal issues) - Pizzuti (theme: Scampia) - Women (theme: Rom) - Pipan (theme: health and insurance) The presentations of authors and texts will be carried out on Thursday.
Course program for attending students: the minimum frequency is at least 85% of the classes Written exam on: - New Manual of Sociology - Classroom material (glossary, slides and classroom notes) Oral examination on: New Handbook of Sociology of Religion, up to p. 225
Exemption for attending students: a written exam (by a provisional mark which will be considered for the final exam) at the end of the course with date and place to be fixed Text: short answers to three questions Suggestion: given the intensity of the course and the date of the exemption already fixed, the attending students are invited to start and continue the study of the texts at the same time and in parallel with the lessons. - Final exam (institutional session): New Handbook of Sociology of Religion (up to p. 225) Same procedure for each Commission (the final mark will take into account the provisional mark) Attending students can afford the exam from the first appeal of June 2016.
