THE MODULE DEALS WITH THE PECULIARITIES OF THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE, WHICH UNLIKE MOST OTHER SLAVIC LANGUAGES, INCLUDING RUSSIAN, HAS DEVELOPED FROM SYNTHETICISM TO ANALYTICISM. STARTING WITH PALAEOSLAVONIC, STUDIED IN THE THREE-YEAR COURSE, AND IN COMPARISON WITH THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE THAT THE STUDENTS ALREADY KNOW, THE MAIN GRAPHOPHONETIC AND GRAMMATICAL FEATURES OF THE MODERN BULGARIAN LANGUAGE ARE PRESENTED. ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL, STUDENTS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE USE OF SHORT TEXTS OF A SCIENTIFIC, POPULAR AND TOPICAL NATURE WITH THE HELP OF THE DICTIONARY.
