È stato tutur dei dottorandi Matteo Grasso (poi post-doc Oxford e alla University of Wisconsin) e Sofia Bonicalzi (che fu visiting graduate student a Cornell, poi post-doc alla University of London e ora è all’Università di Monaco). Nel contesto del progetto Templeton da lui coordinato, ha seguito il lavoro dell’assegnista Rossella Guerrini (presentando un paper congiunto al convegno finale di fine progetto alla University of Florida, a cui seguirà un articolo per un volume di Oxford UP). È stato poi tutor esterno delle tesi di laurea triennale e specialistica di Federica Della Grotta, Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, che è poi diventata dottoranda all’University of Cambridge). È stato tutore di dottorato di altri quattro studenti presso l’Università di Roma tre, ha scritto molte lettere di raccomandazione per studenti sia a Roma Tre sia a Tufts University e ha seguito più di cento tesi di laurea triennale e specialistica.
