Starting from theoretical contributes of different disciplines, this module offers keys to research and to analyse the theoretical-disciplinary and philosophic bases of social work profession – study of Ethical Code – with a focus on its complexity and its peculiarity to other social professions, also in consideration of changes in Welfare State.

Important themes of particular relevance for the profession will be discussed, as the ethical and methodological implications with social work principles and their “action” in practice, like poverty, social needs, social inclusion / exclusion processes, personalization and humanization of the interventions, the rights and their fruition, and so on.

Objectives of the training workshop - Develop the capacity for reflection on the motivations and expectations related to the choice of a profession of aid;
- Learning the ability to work in groups, encouraging discussion and collaboration;
- Gain a preliminary understanding of the local services through the interview with social workers working in different public and private sectors;
- Make a first knowledge of the social competence of the social service issues.

The program The Laboratory, as guidance phase of orientation is a prerequisite to training the II and III year and start the process of learning from experience through lectures and group work:

- The relationship between theory and practice in university education and in the profession;
- Actors and role of the internship (the university, the trainee, the supervisor, the institution);
- Organization and rules of the internship;
- The integrated system of health and social services and the role of social work;
- the role of the Social Service in collaboration with the Judicial Authority (Guardianship, Curatorship, Support Administration, Juvenile Court, Civil Court)
- Knowledge of users and the types of needs, weaknesses and problems that belong to the social service;

Group Workshop:
It is expected, in addition to hours of lectures, outside activity conducted in subgroup.
Each group of students is assigned a territory, and the names of fellow social workers, who work in health and social services and have given their availability, to which administered a structured interview and detect:

- Background information on institutional and organizational references of social and health services;
- Social problems prevailing in the reference territory
- Planned and resources activated in the plan area;
- Role of social work.

The course is structured as to allow the implementation of the students’ linguistic competences, requiring on the side of the student to develop a professional-oriented awareness of the L2 learning and practicing modalities, as well as some cultural analysis skills.
The reading of different types of texts – intended to show students both the pedagogic models of the English culture and the specific jargon of their field of interest (HR and Social Sciences) – will allow the student to enrich his/her lexical and grammar-syntactical competences through constant exercise (pre-reading and post-reading activities, reading and listening comprehension), stimulating the students’ reflection and discussion on general-interest themes and providing useful topics for class-work both at written and oral level. The constant use of English in the classroom will be encouraged, also by the use of multimedia materials; students will be fostered to noticing the differences and similarities between L2 and L1 also by providing and analyzing different translations of the texts proposed.
- Linguistic aspects will be focused on as well; grammar texts with answer-keys and monolingual and bilingual dictionaries are suggested in bibliography. Online language exercises links will be suggested too.

The aim is to arouse students' knowledge and analysis tools that will enable them to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge, in order to obtain an ongoing training and an empirical learning.

Then are studied the ways in which social change and the transformation of needs affect on set of social policies and is presented the framework of the social protection system actors. The second part retraces the legislation on social services, with particular attention to the 1970-2010 period. In this context, a specific study is dedicated to the laws and regulations that led to the organization of an integrated system of services and social interventions.

Training goals
First trainee-ship is the first field experience for the students, in the services in which social workers apply themselves. In this path, students have a double support, from both an external social worker and an academic tutor.
Specific training goals will be:
- let the student thinks on her/his own motivations and expectations on her/his university choices and on her/his professional future;
- let grow the student's capacity to reflect on the relations dynamics, with other social operators, users, and with all the others relations that she/he could start during the progress of the social service where she/he is inserted. Then share her/his worries, doubts, and expectations on her/his experience;
- consolidate the capacity of the student to work in team and to learn through the group exercitations;
- promote the connection between theory and practice and stimulate in the students an exploratory approach with curiosity and interest in the profession and in the social ambit;
- encourage the comparison, the sharing and the discussions of situations and events in common verified during the practical experience of the students.

Training purposes
The course aims at strengthening in students the trifocal perspective on professional social work in continuity with the first year course.
Within this conceptual framework it points to deepen two main issues. The first focuses on person and family through the knowledge of the main professional tools and the connection between needs/demands and resources. The second issue concerns the development of other two dimensions of social work, by analyzing role and professional skills of social workers in organizational contexts within and between services, promoting the work in the community and starting to enhance students’ evaluative perspective.

SOCIAL RIGHTS AND THE ETHIC DIMENSION OF HELPFUL RELATIONSHIP
6 CFU (36 Hours) – II sem. (March-May)

Training objectives of the course
The course aims to provide an updated and comprehensive framework of social rights, especially in relation to socio-political transformations which have been invested for several years now, that they required a deep rethinking ethics in particular.
The course will address the concept of social rights in public law, focusing in particular on the historical genesis of social rights and the role of the State in their process of affirmation. Will then addressed the issue of social rights in our legal system, starting from constitutional text, to allow the student to gain an overview of the effectiveness of those rights in our sorting, with regulatory and jurisprudential references.
Some items also will be provided for understanding the development of social rights in the liberal State, as will be analyzed the issues related to the affirmation of the cd. "new rights", as well as the effect of the economic crisis and budgetary constraints on social Status (in the latter case through a special reference to the most recent jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court). Will be the analysis of the regulatory framework, and institutional administration on social assistance, starting with the framework law on social services (l. 328/2000).
The course aims to deepen the content of social rights, operating from a theoretical analysis of the principles of sorting the concrete work that the social worker will conduct, with particular reference to the protection of the person's right to autonomy and membership group and usability guarantee rights.
In this perspective, the course will address, inter alia, the rights of individuals, taking into consideration in particular the issues relating to disability rights.

Training purposes
The course aims at strengthening in students the trifocal perspective on professional social work in continuity with the first year course.
Within this conceptual framework it points to deepen two main issues. The first focuses on person and family through the knowledge of the main professional tools and the connection between needs/demands and resources. The second issue concerns the development of other two dimensions of social work, by analyzing role and professional skills of social workers in organizational contexts within and between services, promoting the work in the community and starting to enhance students’ evaluative perspective.

The course aims at providing the knowledge of the transformations in economy, society and institutions in the last two centuries. The objective is to offer students the reading keys of modernity. The course aims at offering the essential knowledge concerning the modifications of economy, society and institutions in the last two centuries, in order to provide students with few reading keys of contemporary modernity. The origin being the industrial revolution and the passing from the absolute State to the liberal-constitutional one and the end being globalization and the closing of the East-West bipolar era. In a few introductory lectures the course deals with methodological issues related to the interdisciplinary approach in historical research and to the periodization in socio-economic and political-institutional approach.

The course is structured as to allow the implementation of the students’ linguistic competences, requiring on the side of the student to develop a professional-oriented awareness of the L2 learning and practicing modalities, as well as some cultural analysis skills.
The reading of different types of texts – intended to show students both the pedagogic models of the English culture and the specific jargon of their field of interest (HR and Social Sciences) – will allow the student to enrich his/her lexical and grammar-syntactical competences through constant exercise (pre-reading and post-reading activities, reading and listening comprehension), stimulating the students’ reflection and discussion on general-interest themes and providing useful topics for class-work both at written and oral level. The constant use of English in the classroom will be encouraged, also by the use of multimedia materials; students will be fostered to noticing the differences and similarities between L2 and L1 also by providing and analyzing different translations of the texts proposed.
- Linguistic aspects will be focused on as well; grammar texts with answer-keys and monolingual and bilingual dictionaries are suggested in bibliography. Online language exercises links will be suggested too.
*N.B.: Students belonging to DISSAIFE and SERSS previous courses MUST stick to this program; they will also follow the exam modalities prescribed for this year. Those who need to obtain 4, 5 or 10 CFU must contact the teacher to agree on their specific exam modalities.

The course analyzes the concepts of social policy and welfare system. Then are studied the ways in which social change and the transformation of needs affect on set of social policies and is presented the framework of the social protection system actors. The focus of the course is to analyse the religious phenomenon in the context of a secular, lay and globalised society in the light of the most recent sociological theories and empirical research, the social change in K. The focus of the course is to analyse the religious phenomenon in the context of a secular, lay and globalised society in the light of the most recent sociological theories and empirical research, the social change in K. Mannheim. In particular it will concentrate on the role played by inter-religious dialogue in a context of growing cultural pluralism in Europe and the Mediterranean area. The course will put forward suggestions as to how to carry out a survey on religion.

The course, held in the first half, suggests a survey of topical issues and cultural and social anthropology, with particular attention to the realities of globalization. After recalling some of the research hubs - the concept of culture, the overcoming of the "race", relativism / ethnocentrism, ethnic identity, the analysis of historical and social processes that contact from the colonial situation come to the current realities of migration, will be depth two thematic lines, the first devoted to issues related to migration and the second connected to the experience of the bodies, genres and relationship in the contemporary.

The main course of 6 credits in presence proposes a survey of themes and central problems of cultural and social anthropology. After having retraced some hubs of research - the concept of culture, the overcoming of the "race", relativism / ethnocentrism, ethnic identity, the analysis of the historical-social processes of contact that from the colonial situation reach the current realities of globalization, some research lines will therefore be studied in depth: the first is related to gender and body, a second one dedicated to migration and citizenship also in relation to services, in which the results of a research in a peripheral Roman territory will be presented, finally the third connected to the analysis of new parental and family realities. This program is integrated with the 3 cfu Ethnography Laboratory partly at a distance, through seminar meetings and with the analysis of a chosen anthropological essay included in the list published below.

Through their analysis attempts to identify the tools they are given to the understanding of the present. Only on this basis it will be possible to devise a new contemporary sociology.
