Title of the course: Reading and commenting Manzoni's "Promessi Sposi"
The course will provide a careful reading of Manzoni's novel, aimed to identify textual differences among the variuos stages of its composition. The analysis of the text will consider also the evolution of the its literary genre in the Italian and European context and the reception of Manzoni's masterpiece.

Bibliography:
A critical bibliography will be presented during the course; different texts will respond to the appropriate needs of regular attendants and of students not attending classes. Students will find photocopies ot the book Roberto Salsano, Ritrattistica e mimica nei Promessi sposi, Roma, Palombi editori, 1979 at the copy shop.

Title of the course: machiavelli between Florence and Europe

Description of the course: The course aims to present an introduction to Machiavelli's political thought, with special regard to The Prince and the Discourses on the First Ten Books of Titus Livy.
