Curriculum

Isabella Poggi CURRICULUM VITAE Isabella POGGI is Full Professor of General Psychology and Psychology of Communication at Roma Tre University. She has worked since 1976 at a general model of mind and social interaction, emotions, verbal and multimodal communication, that she investigates by adopting a cognitive science approach and using methods that range from conceptual analysis to observation, empirical research, and simulation on Embodied Agents. She participated in European Research Projects and Networks of Excellence on Embodied Communication, Emotions, and Social Signal Processing. She has authored and co-authored 13 books and around 200 papers on pragmatic aspects of language (first language teaching, persuasion, deception) emotions (shame, guilt, pride, humiliation, compassion, enthusiasm, bitterness, admiration, empathy and contagion, the relation between emotions and goals) social relations (power relations, social emotions, and mobbing at school and work), verbal and multimodal communication (interjections, gestures, physical contact, gaze, head movements, music), and Social Signal Processing (signals of agreement and disagreement, dominance, evaluation, ridicule, irony, parody, acid communication).
